Bogolan Throw #5
Bogolan or Bògòlanfini means ‘made from mud or mud cloth’ in Bambara, the main language of Mali. Mud cloth is made of 100% cotton hand crafted material, woven originally in Mali, West Africa and hand dyed with fermented mud through a long and complex procedure dating from the twelfth century. Men usually weave and women finally decorate them with a large variety of symbolic patterns. The artisans draw symbols into these fabrics in order to tell traditional stories of their villages, proverbs and the culture. The making of mud takes approximately a week to be completed.
This throw is the perfect complement for your boho-chic, bohemian, ethnic, global or afropolitan decoration.
